A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve as a Resource Teacher for elementary students in a supportive educational community. This onsite, full-time assignment spans the academic year from early August through late May, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week. As the sole Resource Teacher for the campus, you will deliver personalized support and instruction to students, empowering them to achieve their fullest potential within a collaborative atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Louisiana Special Education Educator Certificate is required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, support personnel, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and interventions to students with diverse needs in a resource setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal requirements
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and legal standards
