\nJob Type: Full-time / Entry Level
\nTravel: Travel 10% of the time to customer sites and Jovian HQ.
\nPosition Summary:
\nWe are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the development of software applications, tools and frameworks supporting aviation and ground-based systems for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to begin their career in a mission-driven environment, working on cutting-edge technologies that support national defense and warfighter capabilities.
\nYou will perform multiple activities in the software development lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads.
\nResponsibilities:

- Support the development of functional, interface and technical requirements and use cases. \n
- Develop UI prototypes for the tools when required. \n
- Perform software verification by developing automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks. \n
- Perform use acceptance testing and UI testing. \n
- Follow the full lifecycle software development process. \n
- Participate in design and code reviews. \n
- Support the software deployment process. \n
- Look for security vulnerabilities in coding. \n
- Collaborate with team members, project leads and customers. \n
- Use AI and other tools to accelerate learning and create deliverables. \n
Basic Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field. \n
- Strong interest in development of software applications, tools and frameworks in desktop, cloud and web environments. \n
- Strong interest in defense systems, aviation, unmanned systems, or ground vehicle technologies. \n
- Basic understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle. \n
- Familiarity with one or more languages: Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, C. \n
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills. \n
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance. \n
Preferred Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Internship, co-op, or project experience. \n
- Experience with Generative AI applications. \n
- Experience with UML or SysML. \n
- Experience with virtual and cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Docker, etc.). \n
- Experience with software IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse) and git. \n
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, REST, or microservice development. \n
