Job Description
Make a difference each day by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a Social Emotional Behavior classroom for grades 3-5. This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to work closely with students who benefit from specialized supports and individualized attention—all within an encouraging and collaborative school environment.
In this position, you will work 40 hours per week, on-site, between 8:20 AM and 3:40 PM. The assignment runs through October, with the possibility of an extension based on the needs of the students and school.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working with students in grades 3 through 5
- Background in social emotional learning and/or behavioral interventions
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet students’ unique needs
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction using evidence-based strategies
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families
- Support students’ social-emotional and behavioral growth
- Monitor and document student progress toward learning and behavioral goals
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and colleagues to share updates and collaborate on interventions
- Create a safe classroom atmosphere that encourages self-regulation, empathy, and respect among students
