Special Education Teacher | Zion, Illinois

Choose from two dynamic classroom environments—Life Skills Self-Contained or Instructional/Resource—where you’ll work closely with students, support staff, and fellow educators.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid and active Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois (please provide a copy upon application)
• Experience or interest in Special Education, particularly with Life Skills Self-Contained or Instructional/Resource classrooms
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to individualized instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Provide engaging instruction and classroom management to support student learning and independence
• Foster a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to ensure student progress
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement, goals, and accommodations
• Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for support
