Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements apply)
- Previous experience working with K-8 students, ideally in an inclusive or specialized setting
- Comprehensive understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with staff, families, and support teams
- Ability to implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Flexible, problem-solving mindset and positive attitude
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute effective lesson plans tailored to IEP goals
- Foster a supportive, adaptive classroom environment that ensures student safety and engagement
- Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Work alongside general education teachers and other professionals to ensure continuity of care and instruction
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide thoughtful input, and engage in ongoing professional development
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to celebrate achievements and discuss growth areas
