This rewarding contract opportunity runs from August 4, 2026, through May 17, 2027, and offers a 37.5-hour work week, allowing you to enjoy stability while focusing on individualized student growth. With a small caseload of just seven students, you’ll form close connections and help each student achieve their fullest potential in a supportive, well-resourced environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Kentucky Special Education (SPED) teaching certification with Moderate/Severe Disabilities (MSD) endorsement
  • Prior experience working with elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Strong collaboration skills for partnering with general educators, therapists, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students' unique needs
  • Use evidence-based instructional strategies for students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and adjust approaches
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communication with families
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development, staying current on best practices in special education
