Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a skilled speech-language professional, supporting students’ growth in a vibrant, onsite educational environment near Michigan City, IN. You’ll work a consistent 35-hour work week for the 2026-2027 school year, guiding and empowering students ages 2 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized speech-language therapy, incorporating assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and both receptive and expressive language development.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing, providing clear and insightful reports on student assessments and observations.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of IEP objectives, ensuring students’ needs are continually met.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff, fostering meaningful discussions around each student’s developmental progress and support plans.
- Adapt your approach to each student and situation, collaborating within a dedicated team and problem-solving as challenges arise.
Qualifications:
- Valid or in-process Indiana Professional License (IPLA) and teacher’s license from the Department of Education (IDOE).
- Open to both experienced SLPs and those completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY); 1-2 years of SLP experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborating with a team.
