Job Description
Take a leading role in supporting diverse learners as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging K-12 environment. This contract position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a full-time schedule (37.5 hours weekly). Multiple opportunities are available across several elementary schools, offering impactful roles working with Center Based ASD/DCD, Center Based SEL, and Resource caseloads. Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Special Education Teacher (other teaching or paraprofessional experience does not fulfill this requirement)
- Active Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education licensure in at least one of the following: ASD, DCD, EBD, or ABS
- For Center Based ASD/DCD: Must hold ASD or DCD endorsement
- For Center Based SEL: ASD, DCD, or EBD endorsement accepted
- For Resource roles: All Special Education endorsements (ABS, EBD, ASD, DCD) considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with general education and support staff to ensure an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and modify teaching strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning space
