Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Endorsement or special training in classroom behavior management (preferred)
  • Experience working in elementary education settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Flexibility to work onsite; virtual options are not available for this role

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with a range of special needs
  • Manage classrooms focused on behavioral interventions as well as general special education
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Write, evaluate, and adjust IEPs to align with each student’s learning goals and needs
  • Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment centered on growth and inclusion
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families to ensure student success
