Make a meaningful impact in a vibrant school community while developing your skills as a paraprofessional. This contract role offers the chance to work closely with students through Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy, supporting resource programming, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) center-based programming, or Ready Set LAUNCH programming. You’ll have a regular Monday through Friday schedule, working 32.5 hours a week, with the stability of an academic year commitment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must meet one of the following to be considered highly qualified:
    • Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (MN Para Educator Exam).
    • Hold at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas are not sufficient).
  • Resume and proof of qualification (test score or official transcript) must be attached for consideration.
  • Comfortable assisting with toileting and general care as needed.
  • Experience or genuine interest in special education programming.
  • Please indicate if you prefer resource, DCD, or LAUNCH programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff in classroom activities, supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
  • Provide hands-on support within resource, DCD, or LAUNCH center-based settings.
  • Encourage student engagement and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support individual and small-group instruction as directed by certified teachers.
  • Help with transitions and routines, including toileting support for students as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional and caring presence in the school community.
