Key Responsibilities:

  • The Associate Attorney will manage cases from inception through the pre-trial phase. This role involves handling a wide range of litigation responsibilities and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.

  • Conduct client intakes and interviews

  • Maintain regular client communication

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Appear at court hearings

  • Manage pre-trial responsibilities

  • Assist in trial preparation, with opportunities to second or third chair trials

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Prior litigation experience preferred but not required

  • Demonstrated interest or passion for civil rights law
