Job Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Before Assembly Ensure workstation is in proper working order (clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, tools ready, personal protective equipment is applied, etc.)Review BOM's or Work Orders for each project, take inventory of parts & materials, and make determinations of acceptance/rejection for parts based on quality of workmanship Review wiring charts, diagrams, engineering assembly drawings, or other schematics to understand board layout, proper placement, and orientation, and take any needed measurementsPrepare solder pot (pre-tin soldering iron, pre-tin parts as needed, etc.) During AssemblyUse a variety of hand tools, power tools, & vision magnification to:Complete mechanical assembles as neededCut wire and vinyl tubing to lengthInsert component parts (such as resistors, diodes, LED's, integrated circuits, dip sockets, PLCC sockets, capacitors, inductors, transistors, voltage regulators, microchips, etc.) into Circuit Boards or Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's)Install connectors to correct polarity and pinout specificationsOperate wire crimps and inspect terminals for proper crimpCombine sheet metal, PCB's, cables, or harnesses to produce modulesAssemble components and modules up to the top system or cabinet level, according to Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) and Indra standardsMake sure systems and sub-systems meet industry and established specificationsMake any necessary corrections (remove/replace elements, remove/reapply soldering, check connections, measure battery voltage & polarity, etc.)Ensure timely product delivery, by adhering to deadlines per Scope of Work agreementsPerform any other required job duties as assignedAfter AssemblyComplete any re-work as necessary when prompted by other stakeholder departmentsInterface with our Engineering and Production departments for product reliabilityFile Engineering Change Orders (ECO's), with supervisor approval, when neededQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)18+ months experience in Electronics AssemblyTrained to IPCA610 or equivalent standard, is desired
