Remote Junior Software Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for someone who has strong experience developing micro services that expose standards based RESTFul API, developing in Java and GoLang, and be able to create detailed designs and effort estimations with work breakdowns.
\nYou should also have experience with AWS Cloud Native technologies using AWS Cognito, AWS SNS, AWS SQS, AWS KMS, AWS RDS, Aurora PostGres, and Lambda and have experience in the Financial and Insurance sector.

\nKey Accountabilities
\nParticipate in cultivating a helpful, team-oriented environment by mentoring and coaching junior developers.
\nWork with Project Management team to provide estimation of development efforts and activities breakdown.
\nImplement and improve code reviewing process to optimize the development workflow, i.e. help institute automated static code scanning within the development workflow.
\nResponsible for documenting detailed technical designs based on system designs provided by the systems engineer.
\nTake pride and ownership of designing, developing and unit testing micro-services using a combination of Java and GoLang within an AWS driven platform.
\nVerify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data and unit testing components.
\nStrive to ensure upkeep of technical knowledge and expertise in AWS technologies through self-learning and certifications.
\nAnalyze and solve problems that are complex and may be routine in nature, requiring varied responses depending on the situation.
\nInteract with peers before updating supervisors, interaction will often be with management levels at the client and/or within Dream Payments.
\nReceive minimal instruction on daily work tasks and moderate level of instruction on new assignments.
\nParticipate in design, JAD and RAD sessions with senior developers.
\nResponsible for deployment of code and environments as needed.
\nResponsible for the development and deployment build scripts.
\nParticipate in production support activities for troubleshooting and investigating issues.
\nLook for opportunities to continuously improve development workflow and suggest optimization opportunities for improvement to the team.
\nEnsure assigned tasks are completed and delivered within the project timelines, working overtime as needed.
\nBasic Qualifications
\n5+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, and Golang.
\nWorking knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
\nExperience with using IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, or Eclipse.
\n5+years of experience with AWS Cloud computing services such as Lambda, CloudFormation, API Gateway, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, etc.
\nWorking knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
\nWorking knowledge of bash/shell scripting.
\n1+ years of experience with SQL scripting and working with one of the following databases: MySQL, DynamoDB, or Postgresql.
\n3+ years of experience with developing and using RESTful/SOAP Web Services.
\n1+ years of experience with using version control tools such as SVN/GIT.
\n1+ years of experience with using Docker/Fargate/Kubernetes container management platforms.
\nProfessional Skill Requirements
\nUniversity degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or any other equivalent degree preferred.
\nProven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
\nProven ability to communicate and work with an offshore/remote team.
\nProven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
\nDesire to work in an information systems environment.
\nExcellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
\nBasic knowledge or experience with various SDLC methods like Iterative or traditional waterfall.
\nFamiliar with Agile, Scrum, Iterative and Waterfall Development and project methodologies.
