Position Summary
The
\n General Manager is responsible for overall management and oversight of daily
\n venue operations and continued profitability of their designated locations,
\n including managing city and community relations. This individual must
\n exhibit unparalleled levels of hospitality, successfully build and lead strong
\n teams, maintain City Winery’s brand and identity, and strive to exceed
\n standards of excellence in all areas of the business. This role is responsible
\n for activating and executing brand initiatives through the teams, cultivating
\n and instilling a positive company culture, and fostering successful
\n interdepartmental collaboration to ultimately drive profitability for the
\n business.

Overview of Responsibilities

General
\n Operations

\n
    \n
  • Oversee
    \n and manage all aspects of multi-unit operations and all associated
    \n internal departments. Ensure successful execution of all shows, events and
    \n daily activity
  • \n
  • Teach
    \n and adhere to City Winery principles and commitment to quality food, wine,
    \n and service
  • \n
  • Lead by
    \n example and enforce Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and
    \n practices consistently
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n controls are in place to prevent waste and theft
  • \n
  • Establish
    \n goals, anticipate and resolve problems in all aspects of the business
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, safety, and compliance are
    \n maintained at all times
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, compliance
    \n regulations, inspections, etc.

  • Partner
    \n with and work collaboratively with internal Company divisions to achieve
    \n overall company and business goals

  • Oversee
    \n or directly handle customer related issues through email, phone and in
    \n person in a timely manner

  • Manage
    \n content on End of Day (EOD) report to ensure key performance indicators
    \n are captured and reported as per given guidelines
  • \n
  • Collaborate
    \n with managers on visual spot checks of petty cash ledger, POS credit card
    \n processing, voids and comps, report and the nightly product mix
  • \n
  • Review
    \n and sign off on monthly cost reports, inventory–beer, liquor, wine,
    \n glassware and food plus the ticket sales report from programming before
    \n submitting to accounting
  • \n
  • Oversee
    \n facility maintenance including cleanliness and safety; review inventory
    \n and equipment usage including relevant plant maintenance or improvements
    \n needed; create plan for investments related to updates and repairs
  • \n
  • Routine
    \n review of staffing pars to ensure alignment with upcoming events,
    \n reservations, and ticket counts
  • \n
  • Lead
    \n departments on menu pricing to ensure they meet company guidelines and or
    \n are priced appropriately for the market, in partnership with COO
  • \n
  • Lead
    \n communications related to new concepts, promotions, product launches as
    \n they develop with location directors down through line level staff
  • \n
  • Coordinate
    \n proper staff training of all new products prior to a release to the
    \n public.
  • \n
  • Work
    \n alongside Executive Chef to maintain the most efficient operation of our
    \n kitchen and execution of our menus in a timely, presentable and profitable
    \n manor
  • \n
  • Operate
    \n in full compliance in all areas including health, safety and sanitation,
    \n fire, and ensure routine maintenance of equipment and property
  • \n
  • Assist
    \n concert management with communication between Artist Management and the
    \n house when concert comps & VIPs increase the guest list beyond our
    \n normal allotment
  • \n
  • Support
    \n and oversee event operations to approve floor plans and layouts, ensure
    \n complete event information is entered into systems
  • \n
  • Review
    \n and sign off on monthly cost reports, inventory–beer, liquor, wine,
    \n glassware and food plus the ticket sales report from Programming before
    \n submitting to accounting
  • \n
  • Perform,
    \n implement, and execute projects/tasks/ initiatives as per business need
    \n and/or assigned by Senior Leadership
  • \n

Leadership

  • Foster
    \n positive Company culture, build morale, and create on-going positive work
    \n environment and maintain a productive and professional workforce
  • \n
  • Direct
    \n and oversee proper and continued training of staff in all departments
  • \n
  • Interview,
    \n select, train, supervise, counsel, and monitor performance of staff
  • \n
  • Conduct
    \n disciplinary action as needed, including termination, when necessary in
    \n partnership with HR and in accordance with Company policies and guidelines
  • \n
  • Train,
    \n develop, and motivate management team members. Monitor management teams to
    \n ensure they are developing direct reports
  • \n
  • Conduct
    \n staff meetings regularly to ensure effective and clear communication
    \n including management meetings, BEO meetings
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n safe working environment in all areas and proper and timely reporting of
    \n all incidents, injuries, accidents through proper channels
  • \n
  • Approve
    \n of all new hires, with senior leadership partnership when required and
    \n ensure all hires are properly onboarded and given tools to succeed

  • Clearly
    \n communicate and train staff on company updates, policy changes, and
    \n initiatives in a timely manner

    \n personnel issues in partnership with HR and COO when needed

Financial
\n Management

  • Maintain,
    \n monitor, and strive to exceed P&L goals for general operations, food
    \n cost, labor cost, payroll, and all other business related expenditures in
    \n conjunction with business forecasts and budgets
  • \n
  • Provide
    \n budgeting guidelines to all internal departments and monitor financial
    \n performance
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n purchases meets budgetary goals by establishing purchasing specifications,
    \n product storage and usage requirements, and waste control procedures
  • \n
  • Ensure
    \n invoices are handled and disseminated properly through necessary channels
    \n across the business
  • \n
  • Review
    \n all product/item costs, analyze trends and movement, and make changes
    \n accordingly
  • \n
  • Supervise,
    \n train, and monitor management staff to ensure understanding of budget
    \n control

Administration

  • Monitor
    \n department scheduling and adjust as necessary to ensure operational &
    \n financial success

  • Ensure
    \n proper completion of administrative tasks including trackers,
    \n financial-related reports, personnel forms including PAFs, CAFs, injury
    \n reports, and other necessary admin tasks.

  • Oversee
    \n and approve accurate payroll administration and processing

  • Ensure
    \n communication to personnel regarding benefits timelines and proper
    \n administration, in partnership with HR

  • Ensure
    \n accurate reporting and entries into all systems/ software that is utilized

Minimum Qualifications

\n

%CF; 3+ years of restaurant
\n leadership experience required

%CF; 2+ years of restaurant
\n leadership experience required

%CF; Live programming knowledge

\n

%CF; Strong knowledge of front and
\n back of house operations, including food, beverages, staff supervision,
\n inventory, and food safety

%CF; Understanding of cost and
\n labor systems for restaurant profitability

\n

%CF; Proven experience in
\n restaurant management or a similar role

\n

%CF; Strong leadership and
\n organizational skills

\n

%CF; Excellent customer service
\n and communication abilities

\n management, including budgeting and cost control

\n management or substantial work experience in the restaurant industry, preferred
