Sterile Pharmacy Technician (IV Compounding)

Location: Houston, TX 77054 (On-site)

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Based on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Available Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Monday - Friday

  • 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM | Monday - Thursday (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will perform high-precision aseptic manipulations within a cleanroom environment:

  • Sterile Compounding: Accurately mix, prepare, and produce Compounded Sterile Products (CSPs) in ISO 5 laminar flow hoods according to batch records.

  • Aseptic Techniques: Inject active drugs into sterile IV bags, fill syringes, and pool vials using repeater pumps.

  • Meticulous Documentation: Complete batch records using Good Documentation Practices (GDP), verifying that all drugs and supplies are within date.

  • Cleanroom Maintenance: Ensure the compounding room and equipment are cleaned and sanitized daily, adhering strictly to SOPs and federal/state regulations.

  • Packaging & Labeling: Inspect, label, and securely package finished sterile products for distribution.



Qualifications & Requirements

Because we maintain the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance, we require the following qualifications:

The Must-Haves (Dealbreakers):

  • Licensure: Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas (TSBP) and/or active PTCB national certification (CPhT).

  • Certification: ACPE-accredited Sterile Products (IV) Certification is required.

  • Environment Comfort: Ability to work your entire shift fully garbed in a sterile "bunny suit" (including hood, gown, gloves, and goggles) in a cleanroom environment.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Eligibility: Legally authorized to work in the United States.

The Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience with IV compounding and laminar flow hoods.

  • Strong attention to detail and experience keeping highly accurate logs/records.



Physical Requirements & Schedule Flexibility

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods while compounding.

  • Comfortable working occasional overtime or weekends if production needs arise.
