A day in the life of a Tool Room Clerk would consist of:
- -Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to authorized employees.
- -Maintain accurate records of tool check-in/check-out using manual logs or inventory management software.
- -Inspect tools for damage, wear, or defects and arrange for repairs or replacement as needed.
- -Perform routine inventory counts and assist with inventory control activities.
- -Order and stock replacement tools, parts, and consumable supplies.
- -Calibrate, label, and track tools according to company procedures (if applicable).
- -Clean and perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- -Assist maintenance and production personnel in locating the proper tools and equipment.
- -Report inventory discrepancies, missing tools, or damaged equipment to supervision.
- -Support other warehouse or maintenance activities as needed.
Skills and Experience:
An ideal Tool Room Clerk candidate may have:
- Prior experience in manufacturing tool rooms or comparable field
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Safety mindfullness
- Knowledge of tracking systems
