ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Tappahannock, VA. This full-time opportunity allows you to support elementary-aged students while making a meaningful impact through individualized instruction and collaboration with a dedicated educational team.

This school-year assignment offers the opportunity to work in an elementary special education setting focused on promoting student growth, academic achievement, and independence.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time

  • 32 Hours per Week

  • August 10, 2026 – May 27, 2027

  • Elementary Special Education Setting

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Special Education Teaching License with the appropriate Special Education endorsement for the assignment required

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Knowledge of special education compliance, IEP development, and implementation

  • Ability to create structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environments

  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and functional needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and Virginia state standards

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Collaborate with families, related service providers, administrators, and general education staff

  • Implement evidence-based academic, behavioral, and functional interventions

  • Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional development

  • Collect and maintain accurate student progress data and documentation

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration

  • Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Classroom Assignment:

  • Elementary Special Education

  • Caseload of 14 Students
