Job Description
Empower exceptional learners through a highly specialized teaching opportunity for the 2026-27 school year, focusing on Life Skills Education within an Intensive Services Program. This full-time contract role is ideal for experienced Special Education Teachers passionate about supporting students with significant intellectual, social-emotional, behavioral, and adaptive needs in a self-contained, highly structured classroom setting.
As the classroom’s instructional and behavioral leader, you will collaborate closely with families, multidisciplinary teams, and a minimum of two trained adults per classroom to coordinate individualized programming and interventions. With continuous supervision required, you will provide direct instruction and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment for one to two students per class, crafting strategies that directly impact each child’s growth and fostering positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience supporting students with intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, or mental health challenges
- Strong understanding of intensive supports and behavioral management practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proven leadership skills in supervising and mentoring classroom support staff
- Ability to individualize instruction and behavioral supports
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highly individualized academic and life skills instruction to students with significant disabilities
- Implement evidence-based behavior support plans and track student progress
- Supervise, train, and coordinate classroom staff
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure positive, cohesive support for each student
- Maintain accurate documentation according to program and regulatory requirements
