Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Toano, VA
Job Description
Step into a meaningful role providing speech-language pathology services to elementary-aged students. A full-time opportunity is available for a dedicated and qualified professional to support a caseload of 80 students. This contract position is centered on in-person services, but there is potential for a teletherapy option after a short period. Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license, and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric and school-based SLP services
- Familiarity with healthcare documentation and IEP processes
- Previous teletherapy (VOCO) or telepractice experience is beneficial
- Comfortable with or willing to supervise an SLPA
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to elementary students, meeting IEP goals and supporting academic success
- Manage a diverse caseload of up to 80 students with varying communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to enhance student outcomes
- Assess, diagnose, and provide intervention for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and regulatory policies
- Provide supervision and mentorship to an assigned SLPA, if required
- Participate in IEP meetings and school team consultations
- Be open to transitioning to teletherapy after a brief period if needed
