Step into a transformative education environment by supporting students with intensive needs in an Intensive Services Program classroom. This rewarding, full-time contract opportunity is designed for dedicated Special Education Teachers who thrive in highly specialized settings. You’ll provide expert life skills education and behavioral supports to a caseload of one to two students per classroom, ensuring they benefit from a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment with the continuous assistance of a well-trained team.

As the central instructional and behavioral leader, you’ll coordinate individualized programming, implement behavior plans, and maintain active collaboration with support staff, families, and a multidisciplinary team. Your efforts will create meaningful growth for students with significant intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and mental health needs through highly personalized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction using specialized curriculum tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with service providers and families.
  • Provide robust behavioral interventions and positive supports, ensuring a structured and safe classroom climate.
  • Supervise and train classroom support staff, fostering a coherent, team-driven environment.
  • Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams for holistic student support.
  • Document progress, maintain compliance records, and implement safety and intervention procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching License.
  • Experience working with students with moderate to significant disabilities, especially in behavioral or life skills classrooms.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing individualized behavioral and instructional programming.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation preferred.
