Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy’s diverse student community. This assignment spans 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from September 8, 2026, to approximately June 10, 2027. You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact as a paraeducator in one of several specialized programs, including resource programming, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) centerbase, or Ready Set LAUNCH centerbase. Candidates can specify their preferred assignment area.
Successful applicants will work collaboratively with teaching staff to foster a supportive, inclusive environment for all students. Flexibility and a willingness to assist with toileting duties are key expectations. After accruing 422 contract hours, an opportunity for direct hire by the district is available.
Qualified candidates must provide both a current resume and proof of highly qualified status, meeting one of the following:
- Passing score on the Minnesota Paraeducator Exam or MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
- At least 60 college credits (official college transcripts required for presentation)
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting students with special education needs in classroom, small group, or one-on-one settings
- Foster a positive learning atmosphere under teacher direction
- Provide behavioral support, redirection, and individualized instruction
- Engage enthusiastically with all assigned activities, including personal care as needed
- Maintain communication with team members and participate in ongoing training
