Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic, fully virtual school setting. This contract-based opportunity offers full-time hours, allowing you to work seamlessly from anywhere while providing essential instruction and guidance to students in the New Orleans area. You will play a key role in empowering learners, working collaboratively with district teams, and ensuring educational accessibility for all assigned students.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Louisiana Department of Education Certification
- Possess an active teaching certification in your current state of residence
- Experience teaching students who are deaf/hard of hearing, ideally in a virtual environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school professionals
- Skilled in adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, synchronous virtual instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students at various grade levels
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to modify lessons and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and consultative services to meet each student’s unique educational goals
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and comply with all district and state guidelines
- Engage with parents and caregivers to facilitate ongoing student success
- Flexibly manage your schedule while meeting contract expectations for full-time hours
