Responsibilities

Draw quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in accordance with best practices.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen identification.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing activities.

Create a professional and trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and demonstrating sensitivity to patient needs.

Perform specimen collection in various settings, including doctor's offices, patient service centers, and mobile locations as needed.

Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies, promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.

Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Support team operations and contribute to process excellence through attention to detail and collaborative efforts.

Required Skills

Proven phlebotomy skills with experience in diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Ability to accurately verify patient information and label specimens in a timely manner.

Strong communication skills to interact confidently with patients and team members.

Organizational skills necessary to manage multiple specimens and documentation concurrently.

Keyboard and data entry proficiency to maintain accurate electronic records.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, and required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, strongly preferred.

Experience working in a patient service center environment is highly desirable.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed across multiple locations.

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if travel is required.

Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.
