\nPOSITION OVERVIEW:
\nThe client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Los Angeles and San Diego. This role is critical in managing and leading large-scale Type I structural projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, hospitality, and aviation.
\nThe Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and BIM designers, managing project schedules and budgets, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and consultants. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth, including a partnership track.
\nMust-Have Qualifications:
\nExperience: Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience (as close as possible).
\nSE License: Required.
\nEducation: Masters degree or higher in Structural Engineering (U.S. university required).
\nTechnical Expertise:
\nExperience in Type I construction (steel and concrete structures).
\nExperience with ground-up construction (60-70%) and renovations (30-40%).
\nFamiliarity with Mission Critical Facilities.
\nProven ability to manage large-scale structural projects.
\nLeadership & Client Management:
\nAbility to act as a strong, decisive leader and manage a team of engineers and designers.
\nDemonstrated track record of delivering successful projects and maintaining client relationships.
\nNice-to-Have Qualifications:
\nExperience working with DSA and HCAI/OSHPD.
\nExperience in seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings using ASCE 41.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nLead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
\nSupervise project teams (engineers, BIM designers) and ensure successful project execution.
\nWork closely with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver cost-effective, innovative
\nsolutions.
\nEnsure compliance with building codes, seismic regulations, and industry standards.
\nConduct technical design and detailing for large-scale structures.
\nOversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
\nMaintain strong client relationships and actively pursue new business opportunities.
