Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This per diem opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacist to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy services during a 6-week contract in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with all regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication usage to ensure compliance and identify overuse patterns.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure medicines prescribed are appropriate and legally supplied.
  • Keep confidential patient records up to date, managing pharmacy files meticulously.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions thoroughly.
  • Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related patient issues.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is required.
  • Experience in long-term care and mail order settings is highly preferred.

Schedule:

  • Evening shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Monday through Friday with alternating weekends.
