Job Description
Empower students to reach their full potential in a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This in-person position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for learners by providing either Life Skills Self-Contained instruction or Instructional/Resource support, starting August 17, 2026, and concluding May 27, 2027. You will work a full-time schedule of approximately 33.25 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please submit a current copy with your application
- Special Education endorsement necessary
- Experience or demonstrated passion for working with students in special education settings
- Adaptability and a collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in either a Life Skills Self-Contained classroom or as an Instructional/Resource Teacher (please specify which role you are interested in when applying)
- Establish a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Develop and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to address the individual needs of students
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
