Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming academic year. This full-time role runs from August 24, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (32.5 hours per week, with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break). You'll play a significant part in making a meaningful difference in a school-based environment near Detroit, MI.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Possession of current SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
- Previous experience working in a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, assessments, and the delivery of direct and consultative services
- Ability to collaborate professionally with teachers, staff, families, and students
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to students as specified in their IEPs
- Conduct assessments, develop therapy goals, and document progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ academic and social success
- Consult with teachers and caregivers, offering resources and strategies to facilitate communication skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with all school, district, and federal guidelines
