As a Speech-Language Pathologist working in schools, you’ll help students build communication skills essential for academic and social growth.
What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders
- Current SLP license or eligibility to obtain in the state
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for student development
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with speech, language, voice, or fluency disorders
- Deliver direct therapy services and monitor student progress
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and families to support student learning
- Conduct IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to determine eligibility and services
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices
