Special Education Teacher in Bellwood, IL

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
• Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to accommodate a variety of learning needs
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working in a school environment preferred
• Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, adapted instruction to students with varying abilities
• Develop, review, and update IEPs in collaboration with parents, staff, and specialists
• Utilize data-driven approaches to assess student progress and adjust teaching methods
• Partner with general education teachers to promote inclusive classroom practices
• Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom atmosphere
• Engage parents and guardians in the educational process through regular communication
• Maintain thorough records of student progress, attendance, and compliance documentation
