Instrumentation & Control Electronics Technician

Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Pay: Depends on experience

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Electronics Technician to build, install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic control systems. This role requires hands-on experience with electrical components, control panels, soldering, mechanical assembly, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable troubleshooting both existing equipment and new system prototypes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic control systems and instrumentation.
  • Build and wire control panels, including soldering and component installation.
  • Work with electrical components such as relays, switches, solenoids, and motor controllers.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform testing and inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with prototype builds, new system startups, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Complete documentation of work performed, repairs made, and parts used.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of electrical/electronic components, supplies, and spare parts.
  • Rework and repair assembled equipment according to engineering specifications.
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment, including screwdrivers, drills, calipers, tape measures, soldering irons, wire strippers/crimpers, and terminal tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with control systems, electronics, and/or mechanical assembly.
  • Previous soldering experience required.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and technical instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate computer systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions.
  • High attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately.
  • Ability to read tape measures and use basic measuring tools.
  • Must provide own tools.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly lift 30–50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Strong hand dexterity and ability to assemble small parts quickly and accurately.
