Key Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana SPED Educator Certificate required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or resource teacher preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to upholding Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and supporting student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs, primarily in a resource classroom setting
- Develop and implement effective IEPs in collaboration with other specialists and families
- Utilize data-driven strategies to assess and support student progress
- Work in close partnership with general education teachers and school staff
- Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment for all students
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet all compliance requirements
This position is based onsite, ensuring you are fully integrated into the school community and able to build strong relationships with students and colleagues. The assignment is full-time (35 hours per week) from August through May, offering stability and the chance to see your students grow over the course of the year.
