Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Reading Specialist certification required
- Demonstrated mastery in reading instruction, aligned with current state and district standards
- Relevant experience in school-based settings, preferably within urban communities
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities
- Skilled in developing differentiated lesson plans and using formative assessment to guide instruction
- Comfortable with onsite work and the specific needs of the district and location
- Ability to complete all required PA clearances promptly
- Reliable transportation to and from the assignment site
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, standards-based reading lessons for elementary school students
- Use assessment data to tailor instruction and interventions to meet diverse student needs
- Provide direct literacy support and targeted interventions for struggling readers
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to reinforce best practices in literacy instruction
- Maintain accurate records and track student progress toward learning goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic and behavioral growth
This role is set to begin August 24, 2026, and will continue until June 10, 2027, with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours. There is one opening available, with interviews conducted via Zoom to ensure a streamlined process.
