Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients across multiple locations, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, and long-term care facilities.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing accurately and safely, following established procedures.

Explain procedures to patients to create a comfortable and trusting environment.

Ensure daily operations at patient service centers, mobile sites, in-office collections, and long-term care settings are completed efficiently and accurately.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors by guiding and mentoring team members and providing effective onboarding for new staff and clients.

Act as a point of contact for on-site staff, contributing to a high-volume, high-complexity practice.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with various functions such as sales, laboratory testing, IT, billing, and logistics as needed.

Manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments, ensuring quality and patient safety at all times.

Required Skills

Proven experience in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Basic keyboard and data entry skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum of five years of phlebotomy experience required, including working with pediatric and geriatric populations.

Experience in a patient service center or in-office laboratory environment preferred; three years preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service environments is a plus.
