Inpatient Pharmacist – Flexible Contract Coverage
Hospital Pharmacy Opportunity | Winslow, Arizona

A hospital in Winslow, Arizona is looking for an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to provide ongoing coverage. This role is ideal for pharmacists interested in contract work, supplemental income, locum assignments, or a flexible alternative to a traditional full-time position.
You'll join a supportive healthcare team and play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication therapy for hospitalized patients.

What You'll Be Doing
- Reviewing and verifying inpatient medication orders
- Evaluating drug therapy for appropriateness and safety
- Assessing allergies, drug interactions, and contraindications
- Making renal and hepatic dosing recommendations
- Supporting antibiotic management and stewardship efforts
- Performing vancomycin dosing and monitoring
- Processing orders using Cerner
- Managing medication distribution through Pyxis
- Answering medication-related questions from providers and nursing staff
- Monitoring patient therapy outcomes and medication safety concerns
- Supporting formulary compliance and medication reconciliation
- Assisting with inventory management and controlled substance processes
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Arizona Pharmacist license
- Recent inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Preferred:
- Cerner experience
- Pyxis experience
- Vancomycin dosing experience
- Prior rural hospital experience
Coverage Details
The hospital has recurring coverage needs throughout August, September, and October with additional opportunities anticipated.
- Schedule averages 2–4 days per week
- Pharmacy hours are 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Onboarding and training available during the last two weeks of July
