A growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Tempe, AZ is urgently seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with active and clear CA and AZ pharmacist licenses. This role offers a valuable opportunity for newer pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding, with comprehensive training provided. The position begins as a contract to hire with a schedule of 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility in shift start time and potential to increase to full-time.

Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Full Time, 32 hours/week (Monday-Thursday)
Shift: 9 AM – 5 PM (flexible start)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and efficient workflow
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and training
  • Review and approve prescription orders for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Board of Pharmacy regulations, quality standards, and documentation policies
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution for optimal pharmacy service
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve operations and maintain high patient care standards
  • Participate in non-sterile compounding operations (training provided)

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active and clear CA and AZ pharmacist licenses (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacist experience, with mail order, Long Term Care, or 503A pharmacy experience preferred
  • Non-sterile compounding experience is a strong plus but not mandatory
  • Pharmacy management experience is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work full-time hours
