Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist | Fort Wingate, New Mexico

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A critical access hospital in Fort Wingate, NM, is seeking a skilled inpatient pharmacist for a 13-week contract with potential for extension. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a close-knit hospital environment with 25 licensed beds, utilizing advanced technologies such as Cerner for order entry and Pyxis automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient pharmaceutical care and medication management in a hospital setting
• Perform sterile compounding or potentially assume sterile compounding duties as part of daily responsibilities
• Collaborate with a team comprising 1 Director of Pharmacy, 2 pharmacists, and 2 pharmacy technicians
• Maintain medication safety and compliance with hospital policies
• Participate in potential on-call rotations after regular shift hours

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist license is mandatory
• Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is required
• Competency and experience with sterile compounding procedures
• Familiarity with Cerner order entry and Pyxis automation preferred
• Ability to adapt and work independently in a small, critical access hospital environment
• Open to pharmacists willing to travel; nearest airports include Farmington, Albuquerque, and Phoenix

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
