Special Education Teacher - Union, SC

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) working in a learning disabilities (LD) classroom at the middle school level. You’ll provide vital instruction and encouragement, using your expertise to foster a supportive, engaging classroom environment where every student can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education certification in South Carolina, or status pending completion
• Experience teaching or supporting learners with learning disabilities preferred
• Passionate about helping students overcome challenges in a self-contained classroom
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Committed to working onsite

Your Role:

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to individual student learning needs
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to create and implement IEPs
• Provide differentiated instruction, ensuring each student receives the right support and opportunities for growth
• Track progress, collect data, and update documentation per district and regulatory guidelines
• Build rapport with students and inspire confidence in their abilities
• Foster a positive, structured environment that enables student success
