Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Illinois
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience working with students with a broad range of learning, behavioral, and physical challenges
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, modify, and deliver instructional materials and lessons tailored to individual student goals and IEPs
  • Assess students’ needs and progress through ongoing evaluation and data collection
  • Work closely with families, support staff, and colleagues to develop and monitor effective educational plans
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and positive classroom culture that encourages growth and independence
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students both in small groups and individually
  • Document student progress and communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders
