Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
This role will be a 6-month contract-to-hire position. It will sit onsite in OshKosh, WI within general business hours (M-F 8 hour days).
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- CAD (Creo) experience
- Experience creating engineering documentation, drawings, specifications
Plusses:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Automotive or heavy-duty vehicle systems experience
- Windchill PLM experience
- Experience in multifaceted product development environments
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or technicians
- Production support/manufacturing engineering exposure
Day-to-Day:
- Design and develop functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and design validation
- Support new product development and redesign of existing vehicle components
- Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of material
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams
- Investigate and resolve engineering issues reported by internal stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, proposals, and documentation
- Guide and mentor entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians as needed
- Manage small engineering projects or portions of larger programs
