Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist with expertise in Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy services. This role is per diem with a 6-week contract, offering evening shifts Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, including every other weekend. The position is based in Levittown, PA, providing pharmacy services in a LTC mail order environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications to patients.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure medication supply complies with legal regulations and standards.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and address their inquiries.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter drugs regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer patient-focused services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on handling medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for both internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians and healthcare practitioners to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license is required.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is essential.
  • Experience in Long Term Care and Mail Order pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
