Required Qualifications:
- Valid and active Louisiana DOE Certification in General Education Science (Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
- Background in teaching science courses at the high school level preferred
- Ability to manage dynamic classrooms and foster curiosity through engaging lesson plans
- Commitment to maintaining strong classroom management and effective communication with students, staff, and families
- Availability for full-time commitment: 35 hours per week, M–F, following the school calendar
- Willingness to complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting (in addition to credentialing processes)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver science curriculum aligned with state standards for high school students
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles
- Implement formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding and growth
- Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and families to support student success
- Participate in school events, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
