Required Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Louisiana DOE Certification in General Education Science (Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
  • Background in teaching science courses at the high school level preferred
  • Ability to manage dynamic classrooms and foster curiosity through engaging lesson plans
  • Commitment to maintaining strong classroom management and effective communication with students, staff, and families
  • Availability for full-time commitment: 35 hours per week, M–F, following the school calendar
  • Willingness to complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting (in addition to credentialing processes)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver science curriculum aligned with state standards for high school students
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles
  • Implement formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding and growth
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Participate in school events, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
