Inspire and guide students as a Secondary English Language Arts educator for the 2026-2027 academic year. What we're looking for:
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certification with an English endorsement (Bachelor’s degree or higher required)
- Demonstrated classroom experience in general education, particularly ELA at the secondary level
- Comfort leveraging technology to enhance instruction and prepare students for success in the 21st century
- A positive, proactive communicator able to build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and school visitors
- Flexibility, dedication, and a collaborative mindset
Key responsibilities:
- Create a classroom environment that encourages learning, personal growth, and creativity
- Build rapport and provide encouragement, helping students develop essential academic and interpersonal skills
- Motivate students to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in ELA and beyond
- Use innovative teaching and technology tools to make lessons engaging and relevant
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in typical onsite duties or school events
- Support a welcoming, respectful classroom for all learners
- Fulfill other assignments as directed by school leadership
This position begins August 11, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. Details specific to caseload will be shared soon.
