Senior Accountant (Temporary-to-Hire)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Pay Rate: $40.00 - $45.00

A mission-driven non-profit organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role will be responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and grant-related accounts
- Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
- Analyze variances and support budget-to-actual reporting
- Partner with Finance leadership on process improvements and special projects
- Support accounting system upgrades and conversions as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Non-profit accounting experience is highly preferred
- Experience supporting accounting system conversions or ERP implementations is a plus
