Our client, a well-established public accounting firm in the Louisville area, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing team. This role is a strong fit for an accountant with 2-5 years of public accounting experience who enjoys both tax and client-facing accounting work and is looking for broader exposure across advisory, financial reporting, planning, and consulting services.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and related accounting engagements
  • Perform audit, review, and compilation procedures as assigned
  • Prepare and organize workpapers in accordance with professional standards
  • Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy of client financial records
  • Participate in client engagements and collaborate with firm leadership and team members
  • Assist clients with tax planning and advisory initiatives
  • Support year-end planning, estate planning, trust services, and other consulting projects
  • Draft reports, correspondence, and other client deliverables
  • Manage multiple engagements while meeting established deadlines
  • Stay current on accounting and tax regulations, including GAAP and industry best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • 2-5 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience preparing tax returns and working with tax engagements
  • Exposure to financial statement preparation and/or audit engagements preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
  • Proficiency with accounting and tax software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • CPA certification is not required; CPA candidates are encouraged to apply
