Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure or certification in Special Education (per state requirements)
- Prior experience in elementary or middle school special education settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to student success
- Comfortable providing toileting assistance and basic care as needed
- Experience with students requiring feeding tube care is helpful for the middle school classroom
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals and abilities
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment focused on growth, engagement, and positive reinforcement
- Work closely with teaching assistants and behavior technicians for seamless classroom support
- Provide toileting assistance and basic health care tasks as needed
- Collaborate regularly with staff, specialists, and families to support student success
- Document and communicate student progress and challenges
Position Highlights:
- Two structured classroom settings:
- Elementary: 6-student caseload with one teaching assistant and one behavior technician – no severe behavioral needs
- Middle School: 11-student caseload, one with a feeding tube, toileting support required, and a strong support team (teacher plus three full-time assistants; 1:1 care for feeding tube student)
