To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• A valid, current Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois—please have a copy ready to include with your application
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in classroom, resource, or self-contained settings
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities
• Commitment to individualized instruction and adapting curricula to diverse learning needs
• A collaborative mindset and organizational skills

Day-to-day, your responsibilities could include:

• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Delivering engaging instruction tailored to student abilities and needs
• Collecting data and monitoring progress for each student
• Partnering closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff
• Creating supportive, structured classroom routines
