Qualifications and Experience:

  • Successfully passed the MN Para Educator Exam or completed at least 60 college credits
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting children and adolescents in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Adaptability, patience, and a collaborative approach to working with teachers and support staff
  • Desire to help students with diverse needs flourish academically and socially

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with special education teachers and related staff in delivering instructional support
  • Provide individualized or small-group assistance to students with special needs
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom atmosphere
  • Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support students’ daily routines, both academic and behavioral, under teacher direction
  • Encourage positive social interactions and help promote student independence
