Behavior Specialist in School Setting | Chester, Pennsylvania

Step into a dynamic school-based environment as a full-time Behavior Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite contract role spans 35 hours per week, supporting a diverse K-12 caseload and collaborating with dedicated educators to enhance learning outcomes for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. You’ll be part of the action from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, making a tangible impact in an urban school community.

What you’ll do:

• Train new and returning staff on instructional best practices for students with Autism
• Provide ongoing professional development on individualized behavior plans
• Model evidence-based strategies directly with students in classroom settings
• Support teams through assessments, scheduling, IEP reviews, and documentation
• Partner with PaTTAN consultants to align district practices with the latest standards
• Deliver in-vivo coaching and facilitate the spread of high-quality practices districtwide
• Ensure effective implementation of student programs and provide constructive feedback
• Remain present and accessible for staff and students, particularly during the critical start-of-year period

What we’re looking for:

• A valid Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a closely related field
• School-based experience, especially in autism support or urban educational settings
• Proven knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with autism
• Familiarity with IEPs, BIPs, and best practices for staff training
• Ability to complete required Pennsylvania clearances
• Reliable transportation and commitment to onsite presence (7:15AM–4PM; no schedule accommodations)
• Comfort working within an urban district environment and adapting to campus needs

This position offers a competitive compensation of $80 per hour, reflecting the high level of expertise and commitment required.
