Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Louisiana DOE Teaching Certification (must be fully credentialed; Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
  • Strong background in high school mathematics instruction within general education settings
  • Confidence in classroom management and cultivating a positive, productive learning atmosphere
  • Ability to navigate quickly through credentialing requirements, including district-level drug screening and fingerprint clearance
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school assignments and embrace new challenges as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, age-appropriate math lessons to high school students following curriculum standards
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for mathematics
  • Track student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction to individual learning needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to enhance instructional practices and support student achievement
  • Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom updates
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
