Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity serving elementary and PreK-8th grade students as a school psychologist in the surrounding areas near Chicago, IL. This full-time assignment runs from August 18th through May 28th (with the potential for minor extension due to emergency days), providing vital support and expertise to a diverse student population.
Your contributions will make an impact while collaborating with a dedicated team environment. Work hours are 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, ensuring a structured schedule. Caseloads are determined based on partnership with other psychologists on staff, offering flexibility and support.
Key Qualifications:
- Meets Illinois requirements for school psychologists, including a valid PEL (Professional Educator License).
- Experience working with students with low to severe disabilities is preferred, but recent graduates passionate about school psychology are also encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable engaging students across elementary and PreK-8th grade levels.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, counseling, and intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide crisis intervention and support, serving as a valuable resource for school staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and case reviews.
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines.
